To the Campus Community:

In light of the Coronavirus outbreak, Ocean County College has taken the following precautions:

Change of disinfectant to HDQ C-2:

Ø On February 28, 2020, Spartan Chemical HDQ C-2 disinfectant (a chemical that kills Human Coronavirus) was delivered and put in use by all custodial staff on the main campus and SEC.

Increased Daily Custodial Practices:

Ø Beginning March 4, 2020, custodial employees increased their policing duties to include using HDQ C-2 disinfectant for touch points as they make their rounds. Touch points include but are not limited to: door handles, tables, handrails, ADA push buttons, crash bars, water fountains, tables, restrooms, etc.

Ø Restrooms are policed & soap dispensers checked twice daily (9:45am - noon & 1:30pm – 3:15pm).

Ø Similar practices are conducted during overnight cleaning.

Restroom Signage:

Ø On March 3, 2020, signage was posted campus-wide with information on how to prevent the spread of respiratory viruses.

Ø The signage is posted on restroom doors and inside bathroom stall doors.

Ø Each sign has a QR code that takes the user to the CDC website.

Disinfectant Wipes and Hand Sanitizer:

Ø Orders were placed for disinfectant wipe containers and one liter bottles of hand sanitizer.

These items are in great demand nation-wide and will be dispersed throughout campus upon arrival.

Study Abroad:

Ø Trips planned for summer, 2020 have been cancelled.
